How do I add a field to a table?

To add a field to a table, you use the ALTER TABLE command as described below :-

     ALTER TABLE tblName
     ADD fldName fldProperties

So if you wish to add field Name to table People you would use the following SQL statement

     ALTER TABLE People
     ADD Name varchar(50)
     GO
